Our Model
In 1985, in his address at a worldwide planning meeting of all Haggai Institute
Staff and selected Senior Faculty, Dr. Haggai said this about the ministry: “Who are we? We are an entity, a group, under God, ON FIRE with the conviction that if Jesus said that we are to take the Gospel to the whole world, IT CAN BE DONE! And if it is not being done, it’s not God’s fault. It’s that we, so far, have not addressed the thing assiduously enough, and that we need to come up with new methods. If a sports team is losing games, they better come up with a different and better game plan. And that is what Haggai Institute has done by training top leaders from developing countries to present Jesus to their people without compromise or offense.”
Haggai Institute multiplies the impact of Christians worldwide by carefully selecting proven, credentialed leaders and giving them unparalleled training that equips them to impact their world with the message of Jesus.
- These leaders are from every developing world culture and already have access, stature, influence, and crucial local knowledge. We prioritize the marketplace. Approximately 70% of our leaders come from business, government, and other professional arenas. Of the rest, many run significant ministries of their own, or direct the local operations of international, non-governmental organizations.
- We prioritize the areas of greatest need in the world. Leaders from South and East Asia, where population growth is high and few have heard the Good News, receive a proportionately larger quota of training places. Similarly, we give special emphasis to nations in Africa, Latin American, and the Middle East, where Western Christians have little influence.
- We provide the right expertise at our exclusive sessions, with highly-intensive, culturally-sensitive mentoring in an international setting – all in a timeframe that busy leaders can realistically manage. Cultural relevance in evangelism is the keynote of our program. Every leader occupies a unique world – a certain culture, nation, profession, and social circle, each requiring a specific approach to the Gospel presentation.
- Within the global community of Haggai Institute, the expertise our graduates receive is passed on exponentially, as they commit to train at least 100 other leaders and share their faith with 100 individuals in their community. As a result, literally millions of people around the world have heard the message of Christ in a context that they understand – in regions that Western missionaries can no longer reach.
