A member of his team, Cristian Mohr, also an H.I. alumnus, says, “We focus on relevancy. This is something I learnt at Haggai Institute. My wife and I have been working mainly with children and youth even as we have prepared devotionals for teachers.”
The reason why much time is accorded to the teachers is “they are for the largest part ministering to new believers – overseas professionals who are temporarily in Macau on a posting. They have to be specifically rooted deeper into the faith so that they can then start sharing their faith in their work places.”
As part of their contribution to the project, the Mohrs spent many hours on the structure of a Sunday School that drew more and more families. The strength of the church is the worship, the regular music concerts. “Our anti-drug musical event has now become part of the cultural agenda of Macau.”
Christian says it was at Haggai Institute that he learnt that one should strive to excel at whatever one does.
Now that ICA is firmly on its feet, the Mohrs believe it is time to move on to the next project God has given them the vision for.
"We are starting an institute for young people. Through arts (dance and music), education (children with learning disabilities), professional training, counseling, social care, environmental protection and Bible study, we are going to bring people into the Kingdom of God."
His wife is acquiring a degree in psychology so that she can be even more help to the new institute.
