J.L. Smith joined Haggai Institute following a solid, 25-year professional marketing, communications, and sales management career in both for-profit and not-for-profit environments.

Combining a Bachelor of Business Administration from Georgia Southern University with his real-world experience, J.L. excels at identifying, evaluating, and implementing strategic solutions that leverage resources for high-impact Kingdom results.

J.L.’s professional journey has included high-level leadership positions at GE Capital, Larry Burkett’s Christian Financial Concepts, Dr. John C. Maxwell’s INJOY Group, and Crown Financial Ministries.

His desire to “be directly involved with the Great Commission,” in a way that would challenge him personally, professionally, and spiritually, brought him to Haggai Institute. As a member of this “global team,” J.L. leads both internal and external groups responsible for developing world-class communications strategies. Combining his passion for excellence with his expertise in reaching goals, he effectively oversees the promotion, enhancement, and protection of H.I.’s brand reputation and position.

J.L. lives in Auburn, GA with his wife Ginna and youngest child, Hannah.
