Dr. William K. Back
Dr. Back joined Haggai Institute in April 2011 as Chief Development Officer. He is responsible for domestic and international fundraising, donor marketing and communications, and ensuring that all legal requirements are being maintained in compliance with Section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code that governs all (gifting) 501(c) 3 non-profit entities.
Dr. Back is a graduate of the University of Dayton and earned his Juris Doctor degree from Ohio Northern University, following a distinguished military career. A commissioned officer in the United States Army, Dr. Back served in various command and staff positions throughout the United States and overseas. He was the Aide-de-Camp to Lieutenant General Dave R. Palmer, former Superintendent of West Point, and served as a Military Academy Liaison Officer at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point. In addition, he was a member of the U.S. Army Personal Reliability Program.
In 1996, Dr. Back was featured in Vol. 4 of Who’s Who of Professionals, highlighting his efforts in the field of gift and estate planning. Dr. Back’s executive-level experience in higher education, healthcare, and private business uniquely positions him for effectiveness in the strategic leadership of Haggai Institute’s advancement operations. In addition to working directly with major donors, Dr. Back develops systems to cultivate all potential donor markets and leads his Development team in implementing best practices to achieve and maintain meaningful donor relationships, resulting in maximized sustainable financial support for H.I.’s worldwide operations.
Dr. Back has also served as an adjunct professor and sought-after speaker and is the author of Giving It Away Twice, Creative Planned Giving, and Wealth Preservation.
