How to Get the Most Out Of Your Training

Focus

Attendance at all sessions and classes is compulsory. This includes all evening classes and also the meals. You are a mature, experienced Christian leader with much to contribute in class. It will be an encouragement to the Facilitators and the participants to have your input. Remember that every participant is required to stay until the end of the course. Departure before the conclusion of the program is not permitted except in extreme emergencies.

Use rest periods

There are 6 hours of classroom activities 6 days a week. The schedule is intense. Participants should organise their time wisely and stay healthy. In view of the intensive schedule, participants are strongly advised to rest during the afternoon break. Maximise the outdoor open space for relaxation, walking, meditation, prayer, or group activities and sports.

Don't be passive

The Facilitators act only as catalysts and expect some discussion in the class. Please be prepared to enter fully into the discussions. Occasionally, the details of a topic will not be directly relevant to you - but the principles behind it will apply to everybody.

Keep a diary

Endeavour to keep a daily diary or journal of the most important lessons or insights that you have gained from the sessions. Writing things down is of first importance.

Be sociable

Mingle as much as you can with participants from different countries. Meals are a good time for conversation and getting to know one another, especially those from different cultures. Do not keep to your national group.

Look to the future

At the seminar, each participant is required to prepare Action Plans based on their Goals. Before you leave, you will be required to write out the strategies by which you will achieve those goals.

PKTT - Please Keep To Time!

Please be punctual for all events - meals as well as classes. Punctuality is an essential part of our training program and is a mark of mature leadership. You will find that this is continually emphasised during the training.
